Who is Eligible for the NDIS?

Those eligible include Australian citizens or those who hold a Protected Special Category visa, are under the age of 65 and have a permanent and significant disability which impacts everyday activities and live in Australia where NDIS is available.

There is also early intervention eligibility to help those with a disability which is likely to be with them for life but could be improved with extra help.

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) decides who is eligible for the scheme as they provide the NDIS. Please visit the NDIS website for more information.

If you're eligible, you will be referred to as 'participant' and can start using the scheme once it is available in their area, having consulted with an NDIS representative about your first plan and the first plan is then approved.

Fortis Independence is a registered NDIS provider.  To find out more call 1300 910979
